I’ve worked with hundreds of fitness business owner over the years and one of the biggest complaints I get is ‘How Do I Stand out From My Competition.’ There are a sea of personal trainers and gyms out there – so how do you make yourself known to leads and potential customers?

The answer lies in finding your position of power. That thing that no one else can compete with you on, your secret sauce or your Michael Jordan move.

It can be a little trickier than it seems, check out my four steps to solidifying your position of power.

Step One: What Are You?

Finding your position of power requires you to think about what makes you unique. We call these your Unique Selling Propositions or USP’s. Think about things like:

Step Two: Why You?

Ask yourself the question why you? Why do people train with you and not the person down the road. The easiest way to answer this question is to actually ask your clients – they are the best people to tell you why they train with you.

Step Three: Write Down Your Signature Statement

Now that you’ve got a good idea of your USP and why people train with you it’s time to craft your ‘signature statement.’

This might sound something like… The only trainer in Sydney who consistently get results for our clients every week… guaranteed. Sounds much better than just ‘we get results for our clients’ right? And that’s why we call it a position of power.

Step Four: Go To Market

Now it’s time to market your position of power. Be sure to display it on social media, on your website, paint it on your gym wall! You can even go one step further and create a visual badge to represent your position of power.

Recognising your Position of Power will begin to elevate you from your competition and attract the right people to your business.
